The Three Laws – 2013
As a huge science fiction fan I have always been fascinated by Robots and the interesting facts that are associated with the term ‘Robot’. I wanted to focus on the Three Laws of Robotics introduced by author Isaac Asimov. These rules are:
- A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
- A robot must obey the orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
- A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.
I wanted to focus on the topic of the Robot gaining sentience and how the robot would react with the human they are protecting.
